To offset some of our increased costs caused by the peak holiday season, eFulfillment Service is forced to implement a 3 cent per cu. ft increase in storage costs. The increase applies only to overflow storage, not initial bin fees. Peak storage rates will be applied to inventory starting November 14th through the end of the year, first appearing on invoices, Tuesday, Nov. 22.
Peak Storage per SKU= 20¢ bin* (first cu. ft.) + 15¢ per cu. ft. overflow inventory per week
*Bin rate of 20¢ remains unchanged.
Some examples:
- Storing 1 carton, 2 ft. (.6 m) x 2 ft. (.6m) x 1 ft. (.3 m) = 9¢ more per week
- Storing half a pallet**, 2 ft. (.6 m) x 4 ft. (1.22 m) x 4 ft. (1.22 m) = 93¢ more per week
- Storing 2 pallets, at 2 x (4 ft. (1.22 m) x 4 ft. (1.22 m) x 4 ft. (1.22 m)) = $3.84 more per week
Some 3PLs charge for the full pallet, even if your inventory only occupies part of one. eFulfillment Service charges only for the space your inventory uses.
While carriers and other 3PLs have implemented peak surcharges for the entire fourth quarter, eFulfillment Service shares only a portion of the additional costs, and we minimized the timeframe for peak rates.
