***CHANGES TO FREIGHT SHIPMENTS DUE TO COVID-19***

EFS would like to alert you about some changes that have taken place regarding truck freight shipments, and actions you will need to take the next time you submit an order requiring truck freight.

Please note:  This pertains to truck freight shipments ONLY.

At this time, the carriers continue to pick-up and deliver shipments of both essential and non-essential goods.  However, the carriers are no longer requiring their drivers to call ahead for appointments, or to determine when a business is open or closed.

If the business is not open, when the driver arrives, the carrier will return the shipment to the carrier hub, and charge for storage until it is redirected, if possible, or returned to EFS.  This will result in storage fees assessed by the carrier, and return shipping charges as well.

EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY:

  • IF YOU SUBMIT AN ORDER THAT REQUIRES TRUCK FREIGHT AS THE SHIPPING METHOD (PALLETIZED ORDERS), IT WILL BE YOUR RESPONSIBILITY TO VERIFY THE END RECEIVER'S BUSINESS HOURS.
  • IF THE CARRIER ARRIVES AT THE END DESTINATION AND THAT LOCATION IS CLOSED OR NOT TAKING SHIPMENTS, YOU WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR AND AND ALL FEES, INCLUDING THE ONES LISTED ABOVE.

EFS will continue to take and process your orders as usual in all other regards.
