USPS INTERNATIONAL SERVICE DISRUPTIONS: EXPANDED COUNTRY LIST 4-9-20

Temporary Service Suspension

Due to widespread transportation cancellations and restrictions resulting from the Covid-19 Pandemic, the United States Postal Service will temporarily suspend international mail service to the following destinations:

As a result, the USPS is currently unable to accept items destined for affected countries at any Post Office or postal facility location, effective April 9th, 2020, until further notice.

Clients are asked to refrain from entering orders addressed to any of the below countries into the USPS system effective immediately:

  •  Angola
  •  Benin
  •  Bolivia
  •  Bosnia and Herzegovina
  •  Botswana*
  •  Cameroon
  •  Cayman Islands*
  •  Chad*
  •  Cook Islands
  •  Costa Rica
  •  Ecuador*
  •  Fiji*
  • French Polynesia*
  • Gambia
  • Guatemala
  • Honduras*
  • India*
  • Kuwait*
  • Kyrgyzstan
  • Laos
  • Lebanon
  • Libya*
  • Madagascar*
  • Malawi
  • Maldives*
  • Moldova
  • Mongolia*
  • Mozambique
  • New Caledonia*
  • Panama*
  • Papua New Guinea
  • Paraguay
  • Peru*
  • Republic of the Congo
  • Samoa*

*denotes countries not accepting incoming mail.

 

 

These service disruptions affect:

  • Priority Mail Express International (PMEI)
  • Priority Mail International (PMI)
  • First Class Mail International (FCMI)

For already deposited items, Postal Service employees must endorse them "Mail Service Suspended - Return to Sender" and then place them in the mail stream for return.

Unless otherwise noted, service suspensions to a particular country do not affect delivery of military and diplomatic mail.

 

ASENDIA INTERNATIONAL SERVICES

If you currently utilize Asendia International Priority or Asendia ePacket services, any mail or parcels received by Asendia USA and destined for one of the countries listed above will be held at Asendia facilities until the suspension is lifted.  Asendia USA is the mail/package consolidation service that utilizes the USPS as part of their delivery process.
