RATE SHOPPING DISCLAIMER FOR BEST RATE SHIPPING CODES

TO ALL CLIENTS

Many of our clients use our "Best Rate" shipping codes which, as you know, will rate shop your package across the carriers included in the specific code you choose.  There have been cases where the least expensive amount was not billed for the shipment due to the carrier not being "available" when the call is sent from our shipping software to provide a rate.  The following disclaimer applies to these instances.

 

Rate Shopping Disclaimer


If a carrier API does not respond at the time of shipping, said carrier options cannot be included in the rate shop.
This may result in the least expensive option not being available at ship time due to the issues on the carrier end.


During known outages of the carrier APIs, the operations team does attempt to set aside shipments intended for cross-carrier rate shopping.


Some fees cannot be captured at ship time, as they are applied after the shipments have reached the carrier's sorting facilities.

Examples

Non-Standard Packaging fees
Additional Handling fees (including additional Peak AH fee)
Call Tag and Return fees invoiced at a later date
